Description

Cape Horn Trail begins along Fall Creek Trail, about 1.5 miles from the parking area. This trail junction is well marked. It can also be accessed from the end of South Fork Trail.

From Fall Creek Trail, Cape Horn Trail gradually climbs the steep, forested hillside of the Fall Creek Valley. Fall Creek can be heard below, but not seen due to the dense forest. About 0.2 miles from the start of Cape Horn Trail, is the Lost Empire Trail junction where Lost Empire Trail starts. Continue straight here to stay on Cape Horn Trail.

After about another 0.25 miles (0.45 miles from the trail start), Cape Horn Trail veers right and leaves the Fall Creek Valley behind. Fall Creek can no longer be heard, BUT another creek comes into earshot - the South Fork of Fall Creek. The trail is now on the steep hillside of this South Fork Creek Valley, with this new creek far below, to the left of the trail. From here the trail slowly nears the South Fork of Fall Creek and descends to meet it.

Cape Horn Trail then ends at the South Fork of Fall Creek where it meets South Fork Trail.
