Description

This trail connects the parking lot of Sibley Volcanic Regional Preserve and Huckleberry Path in Huckleberry Botanic Regional Preserve.

If you begin at Sibley, you'll follow a short segment of wooded trail to the paved beginning of Round Top Trail, marked by a reservoir tank on the hillside above. Crossing that pavement and continuing along wooded trail, you soon reach and cross the paved road that provides access to the communications towers atop Round Top.

Continuing on wooded trail, keep right at a junction with Loop Trail. The trail then descends, first gradually through a wooded section, then opening to fine views to the east, and then very steeply downhill through more open chaparral. Continue into wooded streamside, then a stream crossing and a climb to a trail junction. This trail turns right and climbs uphill. (Lower Pinehurst Trail turns left and downhill here.) Continue uphill to the junction with Huckleberry Path.
