Family Friendly A perfect place to observe the life cycle of salamanders and frogs.

The park does have a couple closures during hunting season. Typically, this is a 1-2 day closure so checking the Park Schedule is recommended.

Description

The loop at the end of this mellow path is a boardwalk that is elevated 1-2 feet. Entering from the primitive campground would make this trail very easy and potentially wheelchair accessible to adventurous souls in good shape. It also serves as a connector for the Point Trail and Allen's Mountain.

Flora & Fauna

Over 20 vernal (seasonal) pools on the loop. The pools contain many obligate (indicative of seasonal pools) species of salamander, frog, and fairy shrimp. More info on vernal pools here.

Parts of the parks Bluebird Trail is also located on this trail. More info on the trail here.
