Description

On the Clear Creek Canal Trail, you'll get to enjoy hiking through an old water canal that is now a fun singletrack. The trail surface is mainly decomposed granite with a few minor rock crossings, and the area is surrounded by manzanita.

The trail is moderate and mostly flat with a few rolling ups and downs as it winds along parts of what used to be the Clear Creek Water Ditch. The trail has one slightly steeper section as it descends to Orofino Creek. After crossing the creek, you'll encounter a steep uphill. Once at the top, take a minute to catch your breath and take in the views of Shasta Bally and Kanaka Peak.

The trail connects to the Mt. Shasta Mine Trail for hikers looking to make a loop or a longer outing.
