Description

While not a destination hike, this gravel and dirt path along Dove Mountain Boulevard does provide an alternate hiking location with slightly softer conditions than hiking on the road. It's also a decent option on rainy days when traditional trails may be too muddy. Being that it's located next to a roadway, it also may be more conducive to some for night hiking as it may provide a safer feeling than being in a remote location.

Overall, it is pretty straightforward hiking with some moderate and mostly steady elevation changes. There are many possible locations to park to begin the hike but one of the Dove Mountain parks which are marked is often most suitable since there's also a bathroom facility. This is a bit of a hidden non-asphalt treasure that may not be known to many outside of northwest Tucson.
