Description

The Salado Canyon Trail is a section of old railroad bed that has been repurposed into multi-use trail by the Rails-to-Trails Association. Mostly doubletrack, this trail is an easy hike to Bridal Veil Falls. The trail is maintained and mostly flat other than the areas that were trestle back when the railroad climbed through the canyon. There are also a number of cattle guards/gates that must be passed through. Please leave the gates as you find them!

Flora & Fauna

Standard high desert wildlife. Cattle are usually present due to this being near contracted BLM and NFS land.

Easy hike, great for families with kids of all ages. Our 6, 4, and 2 year old loved the waterfall!

Great family trail, kids loved the old rail bridge and throwing rocks in the stream that runs under it! Nice gentle railroad grade.

If you use Google to provide directions to this trail, be aware that it drops you close to the “parking” area. Drive up the curve to the trailhead.…
