Description

Start from the Iowa/South Dakota border, where 100th Street curves to the north. There is enough space here for a few cars to pull off the road. Follow the trail and make a left at the first intersection where another path continues straight. Pass through a wooded area, and continue moving south. For a portion of the route, the trail travels along the river before passing Friar Bluff. Along the way, visitors will be able to see the old quartzite picnic shelter and make their way past the quarry.
