Description

One of many long trails in the Middle Fork Valley. The Dingford Creek trail climbs quickly from the trailhead gaining about 1,000ft in the first mile at which point you pass Pumpkinseed Falls (fed by Pumpkinseed Lake above). After that the trail eases and continues paralleling Dingford Creek making several minor stream crossings. It's advised that hikers use caution in high water times, as crossings can pose a significant threat.

At 3.2 miles you come to a fork in the trail. Take the left branch to Myrtle Lake which you'll reach at 5.1 miles. Take a break or continue on past the lake and on to Upper Myrtle Lake at 4,250ft.

Note that the access road can be rough and the trail can also often be in rough condition.
