Description
The Ann Hamilton Trail runs through the Katy Prairie Conservancy's Indiangrass Preserve. The preserve is made up of 55 acres of reconstructed prairie habitat and includes seasonal wetlands that make a great opportunity for bird watching.
The beginning portion of the trail is ADA approved and paved, allowing all guests to view the wildlife of the prairie and its wetlands. The remainder is crushed gravel, although some portions of the trail currently require invasive species removal. This is an easy trail with no steep inclines and is great for wildlife viewing and photography.
Flora & Fauna
Native coastal prairie plants including big blue stem, rattlesnake master, red love grass, etc. Wildlife includes various shore birds such as the black-necked stilt and egrets, as well as a variety of butterflies and other insects.
