Description

From the trailhead at the eastern end of the Beverly Canyon parking lot off of 46th Street, this trail heads south. After the first short climb, you'll pass some homes and cross over a sandy creekbed. From here, the trail heads southwest and stays close to the power lines overhead.

There are several punchy climbs, but most of them have bypasses. Additionally, the trail is pretty wide, offering a good choice of lines up the steeper parts. You'll cross the Pima Wash Trail (another dry, sandy creekbed) and shortly after you'll cross the gravel road. Continue to follow the power lines up a rather steep climb to the saddle where the Marcos de Niza Trail ends.

The next section down the mountain is considerably more difficult than the rest of the trail so far. It is steep and chunky, but wide enough for plenty of options. The trail ends where it meets the Desert Classic Trail at the bottom of the hill.
