Description

Mau-Har is a side trail that creates a shortcut or a loop with the neighboring section of the AT. Hiking from south to north is a steady to steep climb alongside a stream that pools and waterfalls along the way.

At both the northern and southern termini, there are shelter and tent campsites. The southern site is on the AT, but only a short distance from the Mau-Har trailhead.

This trail, coupled with the AT is a long day trip (make sure you're ok with the total elevation gains along the loop), or a comfortable weekend in the mountains.

Great workout. Beautiful trail with a few choice camping spots. At the lowest section of trail you can take a dip in the pools of the creek. 3.2mi
