Description

From the Ohlone Trail junction, take a left, and the trail climbs steeply for a short ways before mellowing out to a more gradual but steady hike until reaching the junctions with the Manzanita Trail and then the Crystyl Ranch Trail, which leads to the Ohlone-Crystyl Ranch Loop, near the top of the ridge. Paraiso takes a sharp right back down the ridge, very steeply, to the Rancho Paraiso neighborhood.

The trail continues by heading up a paved access road at the end of Ridgestone Ct. that leads to a water tank. At the top, veer right on the dirt road that heads down a ridge to another tank. Another paved access road leads back down to Arbolado Dr. and the trail continues directly across through the neighborhood towards Arbolado Park. Continue straight next to homes to link to Valley Vista Rd. turning right after the gate to reach the trailhead parking.

When combined with a short section of the Ohlone Trail, you can form a loop rising steeply into the Lime Ridge Open Space then looping back around to the Rancho Paraiso neighborhood at the eastern edge of the City of Walnut Creek ending in a flat paved bike trail near Arbolado Park.
