Overview

Part of the comprehensive network of multi-use trails at Papago Park, the Double Butte Loop is a great hike for local Phoenicians and visitors alike. Priding itself on a smooth trail surface, a beautiful, sweeping layout, and dramatic views of the local geology, this trail is surely one to hit if you are in Papago Park.

Description

Starting at the West Park Parking Lot, you can hike the trail in either direction, as the rolling nature of the local terrain provides a similar experience either way you choose to go. Along the way, take time to enjoy the local flora, as Papago Park is known to house beautiful specimens of endemic Sonoran Desert cholla and saguaro cactus.

Flora & Fauna

Keep your eyes peeled for cholla and saguaro around the park.
