Description

Hobbs Road begins off of Manzanita Point Road and climbs up to the Henry W. Coe Monument. Past the monument, the road descends about 500 feet to cross Little Coyote Creek. In typical Coe fashion, the trail climbs back up about 400 feet to get to the top of Middle Ridge and the junction of Middle Ridge Trail.

Shortly after this junction, there is a picnic bench overlooking Blue Ridge. This is an ideal spot to rest and soak in the beauty of what lies ahead.

The road descends about 1,100 feet to meet the middle fork of Coyote Creek. Cross the creek and begin the climb upwards. This last portion of the road is locally known as "The Shortcut". It climbs about 1,500 feet in 1.5 miles and is known as one of the steepest hikes in the Bay Area. Once at the top, there is a well-deserved park bench on Blue Ridge Road.
