Description

The Abrigo Valley Trail climbs through a pleasant oak-shaded valley to open ridge top.

From the Bear Creek Staging area, pass through the gate and ascend through a shaded canyon to the junction with the Mott Peak Trail. The road is gravel and graded to the campsites located about a mile up.

As you continue, you'll pass the Santos Trail to the left and restrooms. This is the end of the gravel portion of this route. You'll immediately hit a dirt (or mud) wall. The trail continues climbing towards the ridge with one final steep pitch to the gate at the Briones Crest Trail.
