Description
The trail begins as a singletrack that quickly climbs out of the East Creek Canyon, then intersects a doubletrack road. Turn left and begin a long climb that the locals call "No Mas Hill." At mile 4.7, pass through a gate and continue to steadily climb.
At mile 9.1, the route descends briefly into Bangs Canyon. At mile 9.8, cross the drainage and begin a steep, rough climb. At mile 10, begin a gradual descent into an open park-like landscape. Pinyon Mesa is on the left. Take a left at mile 10.7.
At mile 12.9, you'll pass a spring and galvanized stock tank and begins a steepish drop into Rough Canyon. Cross the dry creek bed at mile 15. At this point, the route begins a long climb along a sandstone bench.
The trail reaches the Little Park Road at mile 17.3. Turn right onto the paved Little Park Rd. At mile 20.3, turn left onto a singletrack route that is well-marked and follow it to the Tabeguache Trailhead along Monument Road. Be aware that these last few miles travel through the Lunch Loops trail system that offers a full range of singletrack trails worth exploring.
