Overview
This is a great trail with very light traffic. If you want to get out into the solitude of nature this is a great place to start.
Description
This is a great trail with very little traffic. I saw more wild horses than people. Though you'll begin your hike on the
Bonanza Trail, please be aware that the trail does not lead to Bonanza Peak. You need to exit the trail and follow the
Bonanza Peak Summit Spur as it climbs a few hundred yards to the peak. The route is well cairned. When you feel the switchbacks start to descend off the ridge line look for the cairns. There are a lot of trees on the peak but that doesn't stop the magnificent views of Mt. Charleston and the Spring Mountains.
Once you've enjoyed the summit, you can return the way that you came. If you're seeking a longer adventure after the summit, you can continue on the
Bonanza Trail as it heads back south.
Flora & Fauna
Wildflowers, bristlecone pines, wild horses, roadrunners, and chipmunks.
