Waterfalls, close parking, picnic tables and restrooms at the parking lot all make this a great spot for everyone.
Overview
This is a beautiful day trip for the family to see a 200-ft waterfall up close without the crush of people from
Multnomah Falls (just 6 miles away)!
Description
This hike is the perfect place for visitors to get up close and personal with an incredible waterfall, and it's a great option if you're seeking a bit of solitude along the way.
From the parking lot (20-30 spots), proceed to the falls viewpoint to review the trailhead sign. You can see the main falls right from the viewpoint, but for those looking to stretch their legs, the trail to the upper falls is well worth it. The trail ascends fairly steeply right from the start before easing off. There are a few places of potential exposure, so keep track of the kids. If you heated up on the way up, the upper falls can cool you off.
From the falls you can cross the river and come down on the other side. The trails reunite at the base.
Another option is to start off by heading down to below the falls which is less than a 0.5 mile journey and deposits you just 50-100 feet from the splash zone.
