Description

Hop on this trail to enjoy a scenic hike along the Coonville Creek Natural Area. Along the way, a narrow dirt trail (clearly marked with blue blazes) winds up and down a few of the steep hills alongside Coonville Creek. There is a small waterfall (3 ft) upstream from the primary creek crossing that provides a great spot to take a break or enjoy lunch.

Flora & Fauna

Plentiful trailside wildflowers linger into late summer. Several bird species, and a surprising number of armadillos (which sound much larger than they are rustling through the leaf litter) can also be found in the area. Clear and cool creek pools are filled with tiny-to-small fish and crayfish.

Took us (human + dog) about 2 hours, and we stopped to wade in the waters often. Wildflowers were in bloom! Golden retriever heaven. 3mi — 2h 00m
