Overview

A beautiful section of the Ice Age Trail, that runs partly through Hartman Creek State Park, and in the Emmons Creek Fishery Area.

Need to Know

From the parking lot, follow the signs for the mountain biking trail, then hop on the Ice Age Trail! A lot of this trail is in the shade, particularly at the beginning, but you'll be exposed to the sun later on.

Description

Starting at the parking lot near the access point for singletrack biking, you'll be able to get quick access to the Ice Age Trail. Hiking south, once you get on it, it's all singletrack. You'll cross the mountain biking trails a few times, and some other trails from the State Park, but the Ice Age Trail is really easy to follow. Ample blazes lead the way, and the trail is well maintained, which makes it easy to follow. There are only a couple of road crossings if you're starting at the featured parking lot.

Flora & Fauna

Lots of trees and plants. Not many animals... maybe deer and sandhill cranes within the park.
