Description
This well maintained trail passes through an impressive cottonwood forest before reaching stunning views at the ocean. The trail is an old two track about eight feet wide with a gravel surface. There is a reroute a short distance in that may have been created to keep it from flooding. The old route is still there and accessible.
There are a few informal trails going to the north to access Mineral Creek. The trail remains gravel until the end where there is a bench and excellent views of Port Valdez. Be bear aware as there are spawning streams next to the trail and down by the beach, making this a popular spot for salmon and bears.
On a good day, you may see some kite surfers as this is a perfect spot to splash about in the wind.
