Overview
You get to see Wall and Hope Lakes on a very well-defined trail up to Notch Mountain Pass. You then descend past Lake Lovenia and drop to Ibantik Lake.
Need to Know
Stay on the trail at the pass, there are some cliffs above Lake Lovenia that you do not want to fall off of.
Description
This is a well-marked trail from the trailhead, and you'll hike on the
Notch Mountain Trail #81 for this out and back hike. The first mile you'll wander past Lilly Pad Lakes then up a section which is mellow save one small section that will get the heart going.
Once you arrive at Wall Lake, head east across the bridge over the outlet and follow the trail which is well defined. You'll climb above Wall Lake on some switchbacks which reach Hope Lake. Follow the trail on the east side of Hope, and it will wind your way up to the pass. Follow the trail off the pass, passing Lake Lovenia, and then you'll descend switchbacks to Ibantik Lake.
After you have taken in the scenery at Ibantik, simply retrace your steps back to the trailhead.
Flora & Fauna
Wildflowers, porcupines, mountain goats, and moose are common up here.
