Description
To start take the trail off to the right of the map/information board. This trail is a shared trail between MTB use and foot travel, and this track is both the Hopewell Trail and the East Fork Backpack Trail.
The technical terrain makes this route a varied and enjoyable hiking experience, as well as a challenge for amateur mountain bikers who share this stretch of trail.
Hikers have no fear, for this area is not overly plagued with MTB use, and the riders that are out there are very friendly and will give you the right of way if you haven't already.
It is a very quiet trail, except for all the bird calls, rodents scurrying around, and the occasional deer. This is an excellent place to leave the noise of the city behind.
Flora & Fauna
Squirrels, chipmunks, lots of song birds, the occasional whitetail deer, and even less occasional heron can all be seen here. There are also reports of a roosting pair of Bald Eagles around the East Fork Lake area.
