This trail acts as a shortcut from the end of the Conundrum Creek Trail to the East Maroon Creek Trail or vice versa.

From the end of Conundrum Creek Trailhead right at the fork up the steep slope over the ridge, the trail becomes faint as you get closer to the treeline but as long as you head northwest you can't miss the more heavily trafficked East Maroon Creek Trail. You'll have a noticeable drop to the East Maroon Creek Trail, so take your time on the way down.
