Family Friendly
A short, flat, easily accessible trail with plenty for kids of all ages to explore.
Description
This flat and relatively easy singletrack trail connects from Hwy 145/ Lawson Hill to town (via the San Miguel
River Trail). The trail surface is smooth and well-maintained which means you can take your time to look around at the fabulous views. The trail heads in and out of several aspen groves where you'll find wildflowers in the spring and beautiful colors in the fall. You'll cross several small streams that join with the winding San Miguel, and all stream crossings have small bridges so there is no fear of getting your feet wet.
This trail is a great option to make a loop with the San Miguel
River Trail and the
Telluride Bike Path for those looking for a longer outing, or it can be a great option for an out and back on its own.
Flora & Fauna
Deer and elk in the valley. Wildflowers such as columbines, sweet peas, lupine, indian paintbrush, and bluebells in the spring. Aspen, spruce and pine groves.
