Description
The Big Piney Trail has 18 miles of trail that traverse a variety of Ozark terrain, scenery and vegetation types. Several scenic overlooks displaying rock outcroppings and hollow bottoms are located along the trail. Paddy Creek Campground, Big Piney Trail Camp, and Roby Lake Recreation Area are conveniently located on or near the trail.
The southern portion of the loop has two creek crossings.
Backpacked two days one night. Started at the Roby Lake trailhead, camped at Paddy Creek Campground. Hiked the complete loop. Trail was well defined.

Loose rock-gravel trail was very hard on feet and required nearly constant attention. Many, many spiderwebs on trail. Dry creek beds. Pretty area.
