Description

This is a largely flat loop—it is a ranch after all. Getting to the trailhead involves driving through Mueller State Park and parking in a lot right next to some campsites. From here, take a quick trip down the Homestead Trail #12 to find this trail on your right.

The trail starts flat, but you gain roughly 500 feet all at once toward the end of the loop. Some old ranch structures can be found along the way, some still in good condition and others in disrepair.

It's overall a pretty uneventful trail with not a lot to look at. I imagine it would be nice in the winter with snow on the ground and especially nice in spring/summer when the grass isn't all dead. If you have a choice, try to avoid this trail in the mid-to-late fall if you don't enjoy brown grass.
