Description

Hiked on Sunday July 8, 2016, The trail is cleared and well marked by signs. This is a difficult and strenuous hike. Once you start up the flanks of Mount Bowman enroute to the Castles, the climb is continuous with some small areas of scrambling. From the intersection with the Link Trail the hike is on the knife-edge ridge with great views back to the flanks of Mount Washington, the Mount Washington Hotel and the flanks of Mount Adams. The Cairns above treeline are well maintained and the intersections are signed.

Trail is in excellent condition. Awesome hike. More challenging (read "slow") descending than ascending. Remember to bring and wear a mask. — 9h 00m

Might be one of the best hikes in the Whites. Very strenuous with some class 4 scrambling, but great views and interesting topography.
