Description

Hike through the trees adjacent to the Nuttallburg coal conveyor, catching the occasional scenic glimpse of the New River Gorge. Along the trail, keep your eyes peeled for coal slag that once fell from the conveyor as it made its way from the mine to the rail lines below. At times the Conveyor Trail's tread can be quite loose, so be mindful of your footing while hiking.

Did the full loop, from the upper parking area all the way down and around the lower town, then back. It was late afternoon and the trails were empty 5mi — 1h 30m

This is a lot of work but if you're really interested in seeing the mine and the top of the conveyor- you should go!! It's worth it in my opinion!!
