Jump on the trail from a spur off of Coopers Rock Road or from the valley floor off of Mont Chateau Trail and Clay Furnace Trail.

Starting from the top of the trail (at the road), the trail brings you through rocky terrain surrounded by rhododendron and evergreens, before beginning the more significant descent to Clay Run. The downhill section is carved into the hillside, offering a view of Clay Run and Mont Chateau Trail below.

At the bottom of the hill, the bridge to the left begins Mont Chateau Trail and the trail to the right starts Clay Run Trail, which also connects to Clay Furnace Trail.
