Description

Access this loop at the trailhead off the Mill Creek Campground access road. You can also hop on this trail from the Nature Loop Trail or the Saddler Skyline Trail.

A truly historic trail, this loop is named after the Hobbs, Wall & Co. timber company which was one of the largest property owners and logging operations during the late 1860s.

The loop today heads through an ancient redwood forest with giant coast redwoods. As you hike down to the entrance station, look for the transition in the forest around you. Closer to the entrance station, the forest is home to second-growth redwoods. Note the difference in size and composition of plant life.

Flora & Fauna

Redwoods, both first and second-growth. Note the change in size!
