Dogs Off-leash
Features
River/Creek
Trailhead/dog park will be closed completely for about 7 days during the month of April (2016).
Description
Construction is currently blocking the wide, easy access to the east side of the gulch. The work-around is to enter on the west side and cross on the first of 3 bridges. This entrance is singletrack from the beginning. It is a very strenuous up/down with large stretches of trail slanting down at the edge into the gulch. After you cross the bridge, the entrance trail will end at an intersection with the
BNSF Trail. This entrance is a bit more technical than the east entrance, and there are roots rocks and narrow sections to navigate.
From there, visitors can continue to the same route outlined in the Japanese Gulch Railroad Hike, Mukilteo, WA.
Flora & Fauna
You will be under tree cover for 90% of the trail. Only the upper part of the trail next to the railroad tracks is under open sky. Most of the creeks are dry by the end of March, except for the main creek parallel to the tracks.
