Description

From the trailhead located in the bend off of Park Blvd. across from the start of the Ryan Ranch Trail, this trail heads northwest and is a steady downhill right from the start. At about 0.8 miles, the trail crosses Park Blvd. and continues in a steady but gentle descent heading across fairly open ground toward several rock outcroppings to the northwest.

At about the 3 mile mark, the trail heads past the Lost Horse Ranger Station, continuing along the fairly open ground of Quail Wash. The trail continues on to cross the Johnny Lang Connector Trail before coming to an end at a junction with the Quail Springs Trail near the Quail Springs Trailhead and picnic area.

If hiking this as an out-and-back trail, be sure to remember that the return journey will be all uphill, so be sure to bring plenty of water and save enough energy for the trip back.
