Description

This is best done with a shuttle from the Duck Lake TH to the 20-mile Trailhead off Warren Wagon Road. You start off at Lick Creek Summit and the Duck Lake Trailhead.

The trail starts gradually climbing up to Duck Lake, you'll pass the junction of the Hum Lake Trail, then pass Duck Lake and continue up to the pass. You'll pass one more trail junction where the Loon Creek Trail which is on the right. Continue on the left fork, and you'll start descending to the 20-Mile drainage.

The trail drops steeply down the headwall then becomes gradual for the rest of the way. You'll pass the 20-Mile Lake Trail on your right which branches off 3 miles from the 20-Mile Trailhead.

This trail takes you through old burns, avalanche debris and a beautiful glaciated canyon. Trail maintenance can be spotty on this trail. Be prepared to climb over downfall after windstorms and early season.

Flora & Fauna

Bears, deer, domestic sheep, elk, wildflowers, bear grass.
