Overview

A short, but sweet, jaunt through a small portion of the park, but one not to be dismissed.

Description

The trail provides ample elevation changes and beauty, and is, in my opinion, a gem. From the start, the path gets your heart pumping as you navigate the steps from the parking lot to the top of the ridge, and your heart rate will continue to rise as you follow the roughly oval loop back around to the end.

A wonderful overlook awaits you about midway through, where you can gaze upon the Green River as it flows through the trail's namesake bend. Time your hike for the winter, when the fallen leaves allow for a better view of the valley.

On my most recent hike, I had the pleasure of watching a bald eagle soar over the bend in the river from the overlook.

Beautiful short walk with engaging landscape with horseshoe bend of the Green River views (partially obscured by the trees). Loved it! 0.6mi
