Plenty of levels to these headlands. Ocean level, first bluff, and then the peak. Take your time and enjoy it all.
Overview
This point is a study in geology. Current erosion along the bluffs is always occurring, and this is a great route that showcases it all.
Need to Know
By the bluffs there are steep drop offs.
Description
As you begin this route, you are under the canopy of the trees. As you approach the beach, the trees make way for more open landscapes and chaparral.
Take the first left onto the
Lishumsha Trail and as soon as it joins the California
Coastal Trail, go right. At the beach you'll see the
Bootleggers Steps Trail to your left. Climb up to the top and work your way out to the edge. Not too close though!
When you head back, stay right along the
Mori Bluff Trail. There will be some climbing and it will connect to the
Mori Ridge Trail. After you reach the top, backtrack and look left for the
Timigtac Trail.
Follow this until you see the California
Coastal Trail on your left. You'll now start making your way downward. Follow this trail back to the
Lishumsha Trail and on back to finish your loop.
