Description

Graylyn Multiuse Trail is one of several gravel roads in the park used as a hiking, biking, and equestrian trail. The trailhead is off of Graylyn Drive, just off Ebenezer Church Road in North Raleigh. Note that there is no parking here, this is an entrance for pedestrians and bicyclists.

The trail starts beyond the gate and leads in a southerly direction into the park. Within the first half mile, you'll pass the King Family Cemetery. The King Family was one of the wealthiest families who lived in the area prior to the park's construction and so have one of the nicest cemeteries. Past the cemetery is the access to Sycamore Trail and the multi-use trailhead parking lot.

Shortly past the access to the parking lot, North Turkey Creek Multiuse Trail splits to the left. Continue on Graylyn Multiuse Trail to a powerline clearing and the trail curves to the left and heads down towards Sycamore Creek. The trail leads across the creek on a scenic stone bridge, passing an intersection with Sycamore Trail before the bridge and then Company Mill Trail immediately after the bridge. The trail then gradually heads back up, terminating at an intersection with Reedy Creek Multiuse Trail.

Flora & Fauna

The powerline clearings are a good spot to see wildflowers and butterflies in the spring.
