Description
This is the on-road section that connects the
Fish Lake Trail to the Columbia Plateau Trail. The road (Cheney-Spokane) is relatively quiet mid-day, but is busier during commute times and on weekends. There is a wide shoulder area.
This description begins from the northern portion, starting with the
Fish Lake Trail. When you reach Scribner Road coming from the
Fish Lake Trail, head up the hill and then take a left turn. The road winds through rural areas with a couple of businesses along the way. There is one hill that is not much of a grade but is long.
There is a sign marking the Fish Lake Trailhead for the Columbia Plateau Trail on the left side of the road as you head toward Cheney. On the right side of the road is a large sign for DJ's. Turn left onto S. Meyers Park Road, stay on the road past Fish Lake Regional Park boat launch. At the top of a short incline you'll come to the trailhead. There are several parking spaces and 2 restrooms. A Discover Pass is required.
