Description

The trail starts at the intersection of Hannegan Pass Trail and Chilliwack Trail. It gradually ascends through dense old growth forest following Brush Creek. As the trail works east, it passes through intermittent brushy meadows that have been made by avalanche paths.

At 2 miles, the trail passes Graybeal Camp and begins to climb more steeply up to Whatcom Pass. This section can be steep and rocky with many switchbacks. The views continue to improve up to Whatcom Pass which has spectacular views of Mount Challenger, Whatcom Peak, and many other glaciated mountains.

Flora & Fauna

Black bears are frequently spotted in this area, a good reminder that proper food storage is essential here.
