Description

Unlike many of the other multi-use paths featured at Rock Creek Park, Bike Trail #5 is rolling for the duration of the trail. The trail begins within the park borders, and continues past the southern boundary. Though the portions within the park are heavily shaded, the portions that follow neighborhood roads are a bit more exposed. This route connects many nearby neighborhoods with the park, and thus this is a popular location for all kinds of activities. Keep an eye out, and be courteous to other visitors.

Western Ridge Trail southern fork for Moderate (upper), Strenuous (lower). Suggest taking Strenuous north since it's easier to climb the Strenuous trail rockface than crab-walk it down. Return loop via the Moderate Trail.
