Description
This trail begins and ends on the ridge part way up
Rabbit Run. This trail is mostly used by bikes but is open to hiking and is normally traveled in a counterclockwise direction by mountain bikers. If we hikers go clockwise, we can all see each other better in the tall sage and twisty corners.
At the 5-way intersection, head northwest down into Goose Creek. Just before crossing W. Goose Creek Rd., the trail jogs right and you'll see a crosswalk. The trail continues down into Goose Creek and along Old Horseshoe Bend Rd., before cutting east and starting a gradual climb. Enjoy a few ups and downs and a few corners as you gradually make elevation and come to a second crosswalk on W. Goose Creek Rd.
From here, the trail continues to climb and offers a great view of several mountain bike drops and jumps on the nearby downhill trails. This trail actually goes under two bridges/ramps/drops as you climb up to the ridge. This is nice as there is no longer high-speed bike cross traffic across the trail.
