Description
The trailhead for this route is accessed off of Paul's Point Circle in Bernheim. This report describes the route in the clockwise direction, but it is equally as pleasant in both directions.
The trail is very clearly marked with red triangle blazes, though the initial starting point was hard to spot. It wasn't initially clear how to cross the (seasonally dry) creek bed, but once you find the blazes, the trail is easy to see as it ascends the ridge. The climb to gain the ridgeline was more intermediate than difficult, as described in Bernheim's guide. Especially for individuals used to hiking, this is a somewhat strenuous, though not insurmountable incline. The trail then follows the ridge for a while, before beginning a winding descent.
There are multiple creek bed crossings that were dry during this undertaking. Even still, you may want to be prepared with waterproof boots if undertaking the trail in the wetter months, as no bridges were provided. The loop returns back to the parking lot.
