Description
Always check
trinitytrailriders.org for the current trail status.
This trail is on Corps and private land on the west side of Lavon Lake and goes through meadows and woodlands. The private land uses a platted public easement for the trail bed across the private land. Please stay on the marked easement trail bed.
The destination on this trail segment is the White Rock Creek crossing and picnic tables, set in a grove a very mature pecan trees. After leaving the trailhead and heading south, you traverse a meadow and woodlands before crossing Snider Lane to the easement entrance which provides public access to private land. Follow the trail uphill through the cedar trees and you come out to a cultivated field. The easement around and across the field is well marked with white stakes, so please stay on the trail bed. When you leave the field, the trail goes downhill through cedar trees, and then alternates between meadows and woodlands, until you reach the White Rock Creek crossing.
Note that after a rain event, or when the Lake rises above 494ft, the crossing may be too deep to cross by foot.
Flora & Fauna
Deer, bobcats, coyotes, and wild pigs have been seen on this trail.
