Description
The trail takes you around Herb Parsons Lake. Either direction is open though the predominate directions is CCW. The trail is relatively flat and the surface is hard-packed silt and clay. Please do not hike when wet.
The trail system winds through the woods, across creeks, and past old homesteads. Some of the creek crossings might get your feet wet, and be careful on wet rocks!
The lake is managed by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. This is a no-wake fishing lake with boat ramp, small store and picnic areas. The trail is maintained by the local mountain bike community Mid-South Trails Association. The gates open 30 minutes before sunrise and close 30 minutes after sunset.
