Lake
Family Friendly
The park in general is great for camping with plenty of open space to walk, run, cycle and play outdoors!
Overview
Just outside St. Peters, this park is a convenient getaway. The route around the lake is paved for all to get outside and enjoy. There are even a couple of hidden surprises along the way!
Need to Know
Bring the whole family and enjoy this 4.5 mile trail. On sunny days bring some sunscreen, there is little shade along most of the trail. In the summer enjoy the Gator Island Grill overlooking the lake.
Description
The park is conveniently located, with plenty of parking and paved path makes it easy for all to get outside and enjoy. Pets are welcome on leash. There is RV and tent camping, rental of bikes and boats (non-motorized only), picnic tables and park rangers who patrol the park year round.
This paved trail follows the lake edge, and is relatively flat. Along the way, you'll enjoy views of the water, and will most likely see fishermen intent on the day's catch. For a short portion of this trail, you'll find yourself between the lake and Dardenne Creek. There aren't many trees along the way, so be prepared as this trail is quite warm and exposed, especially in the summer months!
