Family Friendly Kids who can handle some light scrambling would enjoy this trail.

This trail is a fun scramble over rougher terrain, but it's best to avoid it in the summer when Copperheads like to hang out in the loose rock east of the lake.

Description

Once you get to the end of the White Trail, you can cross the small footbridge and continue along the unmaintained (but marked on the park's map) section of the White Trail. The footing is rougher and there's some scrambling over tree trunks and rocks, but it's a fun trail that offers more variety for those that want a little adventure. It's marked with white blazes for the entire length, so keep your eyes open and it's fairly straightforward to stay on the trail.

The bridge marks the intersection where you can choose to go around the lake (right, on the White Trail), or up the ridge to Chauncey Peak (left, on the Blue Trail).

The Giuffrida Park White Trail is more subtle on this side of the lake, but still not too hard to follow if you keep your eyes open.

Didn't realize this part was intermediate. Bit of a scramble the whole way, very rocky. A fun adventure! Luckily no copperheads. 0.8mi
