Description

The Peaks Loop traverses an excellent example of a mature oak-hickory forest on the upper slopes before gradually descending to a mature beech forest along the stream. With towering oaks and poplars, this forest takes the hiker back to a time when forests dominated the landscape. In the midst of over 700 acres of conserved land, the Peaks Loop offers quiet solitude among the giants.

The Peaks Loop also connects to the Walker Trail at is southern end.

Flora & Fauna

Large mature hardwood trees, including large oaks, hickories and poplars. Spring ephemerals are abundant along the stream and floodplain.

Easy, calm trail in shade. Couple of small bridges for creek crossings. Links to other trails. Trail head on opposite side of road from parking.
