Description
From the trailhead, take the trail on the north side of the road. There is a register at this trailhead. Please use it to help the Forest Service track how much use this trail gets. The trail will go up through a gorgeous forest winding its way over many bridges.
This trail continues a steady climb until you reach
Wolverine Cabin. This is an old Border Patrolman's cabin that is open for public use on a first come, first serve basis. Even if you are only here for a day, check out the cabin. It even has an old Log Book with a wooden cover. Please help keep the cabin clean by helping to pack out more than you packed in. From the cabin you'll see all of the Wolverine Lakes. The fishing is good here and can be a great stop to relax and energize for a while.
From the cabin, the trail begins to climb again until you reach the ridge above the lakes. From here you have a great view into the Valley and access to other area trails.
