Family Friendly Kids will love heading out on this great trail, and will enjoy the viewpoint even more.

Description

Though only about 3/4 of a mile from the start of this trail to the lookout, this trail packs a lot into that distance! Beginning near the Massanutten Lodge and the Skyland Resort, begin your journey heading west. You'll have a mostly moderate descent on the way to the viewpoint, though there are a few steep parts where the underlying rock has started to come through. Use caution, especially on your way down.

At just over 1/2 miles into the hike, the trail levels out, and you'll be nearing the Miler's Head Viewpoint. This is a great place to take in views of the surrounding valley. Though you started at the high point of the park, it's still a great place to survey everything that Shenandoah has to offer.
