Description

The Gap Run Trail isn't as challenging as the neighboring Rocky Mount Trail, although this also means you won't be rewarded with as many views since the trail heads through a heavily treed area.

The trail starts from it's junction with the northern end of Rocky Mount Trail with a gradual climb through a shallow valley, following along the stream bed for Gap Run. After about a mile of easy hiking, you'll start to climb a bit more steeply as the trail turns further north and west to connect back with the Rocky Mount Trail.

The last mile is a steep and challenging climb to connect back to Rocky Mount Trail. Save some energy for this last bit!

Used this trail to loop the Rocky Mountain Trail. Very wet & muddy at the bottom of valley. Follow orange streamers to keep on trail.
